College Prep
The Black Artists Dance Collective (TBADC) hosted their first College Prep Week in Summer 23’ at the esteemed Atlanta Dance & Music Academy . This initiative is an extension of TBADC's two-week Tuition-Free Intensive, which was designed to provide exceptional young black dancers aged 13-18 in the metro Atlanta area with unparalleled opportunities for networking and training under the guidance of leading professionals in the dance industry. By eliminating financial and accessibility barriers, TBADC's College Prep Initiative aims to cultivate talent and shape the futures of these aspiring artists.
How it Works
Throughout the College Prep Week, students and their parents engage in enlightening seminars facilitated by the College Board, focusing on critical topics such as financial aid strategies and navigating the intricacies of the college application process. Additionally, this week provides an exclusive chance for students to audition for prestigious collegiate dance programs. Guided by the program's directors, Shonica Gooden and Jamal White, participants received invaluable mentorship, helping them shape their collegiate dreams and chart their journeys towards higher education.
